In order to get the best results from your bodywork / skincare treatment, there is some recommended care tips that you can take part in before and after your treatment. Will share a basic guideline for pre & post care to ensure that you receive the best bodywork / skincare treatment experience possible.

Pre / Before:

Shower / Bath

It is recommended to have clean skin with no ointments or skincare products on. The warm water helps improve blood flow and even aids in warming up the tissues. It also can help with reducing overall stress, which is a primary goal of massage.

Avoid Make-Up

Please avoid applying make-up. Allow your skin to breath without this barrier.

Light Meal

Avoid eating a heavy meal. Eating something light like steamed or liquid foods will help you feel refreshed versus bloated and sluggish after your massage / treatment.

Avoid Caffeine, Dairy & Sugar

Coffee and caffeinated teas will bring up your stress levels.
- Rather hydrated with water.

Light Fitness

Doing a light exercise, will help the body to relax after a good workout. It will assist the lymph fluid to flow better and helping the body to detox even further after your treatment.

Arrival

Will arrive at your door-step 30 minutes prior to your treatment to set up & for the consultation. While you wait, focus on deep, slow breathing to help calm your mind and body.

Post / After:

Stay Hydrated

It's very important to stay hydrated even after a bodywork / skincare treatment. Drinking plenty of water will help aid in flushing out toxins more effectively and will increase circulation. Try to aim for 1-2 litres of water in the day.
Avoid alcohol and caffeine, it is recommended to avoid them for the rest of the day since they impair blood flow by constricting blood vessels.
- Avoid smoking which dehydrates your body.

Rest

Dim the lights, put on some soft music and rest. Aim to give your body a day off on your treatment day.

Avoid Strenuous Activities

Please avoid activities like heavy weight lifting and running for a day or two after your treatment. Massage / bodyworks helps aid in healthy tissue repair. Strenuous activities such as these can slow down or impair the tissue healing process. Instead of these activities, try going for a walk or doing some mild stretching to increase the effectiveness of your treatment.

Light | Detox Meal

Avoid eating a large/heavy/spice meal for several hours after the treatment, as the body needs energy for healing rather than for digestion. Try a detox soap for example to carry out the effectiveness of the treatment.

Avoid Rinsing Off

Avoid showering, bathing, steaming or saunas after the treatment. Refraining from rinsing off will allow your skin to soak up the minerals and anti-oxidants from the treatment. Give it at least two hours.
- Avoid touching household chemicals in that day too.

Avoid Exposure

Stay out the sun as much as possible after the treatment. Due to skin sensitivity or skin damage.
- Including sun-beds
